Privacy Policy
Shcoder Corp. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the staqly language learning application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

1. Who We Are

2. Minimum Age
The App is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at shcoder.alex@gmail.com and we will delete it.
3. Data Not Used to Track You
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Your data is never shared with advertisers or used to build advertising profiles. This App is "Data Not Used to Track You" under App Store terminology.
4. What We Collect and Why
4.1 Account Data
When you sign in via Google, Apple, or email, we receive and store:
- User ID: to identify your account
- Email address: for account management and communications
- Display name: shown on your profile
Purpose: Authentication and account management.
Stored by: Supabase (our authentication and database provider).
4.2 Learning Preferences
We store your in-app settings, including:
- Native and target languages, CEFR level, topic niches
- Notification preferences and subscription plan
Purpose: Personalising your learning experience.
4.3 Content You Import
When you import a source (article, podcast, video, etc.):
- Source URL: to identify and retrieve the content
- Transcript: extracted via speech-to-text processing
- Terms and occurrences: vocabulary items extracted from the transcript
- Review history: your spaced-repetition progress on each term
Purpose: Delivering and tracking your vocabulary learning.
4.4 Device and Session Data
We store:
- Push notification token: to send study reminders (only if you opt in)
- Platform (iOS/Android), locale, timezone, last seen timestamp
Purpose: Delivering notifications and diagnosing technical issues.
5. Sub-Processors
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Supabase: authentication, database, and file storage
- OpenRouter / Groq (Whisper): audio transcription; audio bytes are sent to Groq's Whisper model via OpenRouter for transcription only and are not retained by us beyond that request
- Google Gemini: transcript text is sent for vocabulary extraction
- Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: third-party authentication
- Expo Push / Apple Push Notification service (APNs): delivering push notifications to your device
Each sub-processor operates under appropriate data processing agreements.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account, which permanently removes your sources, terms, progress, and account data.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (available directly in-app via Settings → Delete account)
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability: receive a copy of your data in a structured format
For requests other than account deletion (which is self-service in the App), contact us at shcoder.alex@gmail.com. We handle data access and export requests manually and will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in Kazakhstan.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (TLS) and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
